Selling on five marketplaces
without five browser tabs open

A seller on five marketplaces usually has five browser tabs open and a spreadsheet trying to keep stock numbers consistent between them. That's exactly how a product gets oversold on one platform while sitting unsold on another. Seller tooling centralizes listings, stock and pricing into one system that pushes updates out to every marketplace automatically.

Why five tabs stop working

Marketplace seller tooling fits a seller already live on two or more marketplaces: Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Ozon. If you’re losing time and accuracy managing each one separately, this is the fix. It suits a business ready to scale listing count without scaling the headcount needed to keep every platform updated by hand.

It doesn’t fit a seller on a single marketplace with no near-term plan to expand. Centralizing only pays off once there’s more than one platform to centralize.

What’s inside the tool

One product catalogue as the source of truth, with every connected marketplace treated as a sync target, not a separate place data lives and drifts out of consistency.

Stock sync tight enough that a sale on one platform reflects everywhere else before a customer on another marketplace can order something no longer available.

Pricing rules that account for each marketplace’s own fee structure, since the same margin target means a different sticker price on a platform charging a higher commission.

Bulk tools for creating and updating listings. Editing fifty products one at a time across five platforms isn’t a workflow. It’s a bottleneck.

How we build it

We start by mapping each target marketplace’s actual API. Shopee, Lazada and Amazon each have different rate limits, data requirements and quirks. The central system has to account for that, rather than assume they all behave the same way.

The central catalogue gets built first. Sync connectors get added one marketplace at a time, so each integration is tested against real listings before the next one is added. Stock sync intervals are tuned to each marketplace’s rate limits, respecting them rather than polling aggressively and risking a suspended seller account.

Where this can go wrong

Rate limits are the single biggest operational risk here. Polling five marketplaces aggressively to keep stock perfectly synced in real time is exactly the behavior that gets a seller account flagged or suspended. Every connector respects each marketplace’s documented limits, even when that means stock sync runs a few minutes behind instead of instant.

The second trap is a sync conflict: two marketplaces reporting different states for the same product because of a timing gap. We handle that by making the central catalogue the single source of truth, treating marketplace-reported state as something to reconcile against, not blindly trust.

A marketplace changing its API without much notice is the third real risk here, and it has happened to sellers we’ve worked with before. We build each connector to fail loudly and alert your team, rather than silently stop syncing and leave stale listings live.

Bulk listing tools also need a dry-run mode. A bulk price update applied to the wrong product set is a mistake that’s expensive to notice after the fact, not before.

Price and timeline

Option Price What it covers
MVP from $6,000 Two marketplaces, basic stock sync, manual pricing
Production from $10,000 Three or more marketplaces, full stock and pricing sync, bulk listing tools, order aggregation
Full control (handover-ready) from $11,000 Everything in Production plus competitor price tracking, architecture documentation, and 60 days of support

Running cost after launch depends on hosting and, where relevant, model usage, typically $20 to $150 a month for a project at this scale.

What you own at the end

You own the central catalogue, the sync engine, and every marketplace API credential under your own seller accounts. The system is built so adding a sixth marketplace later means writing a connector, not rebuilding everything that already works.

This is the same handover standard on every store or marketplace we build. The platform account, every payment and delivery credential, and the full order history stay in your name from day one, not just after a dispute. A written handover document explains what each integration does and why. A future developer, ours or someone else’s, can pick up the system without reverse-engineering it from the code alone.

FAQ

How much does marketplace seller tooling cost?

From $6,000 for syncing two to three marketplaces with one catalogue and stock sync, 6 to 10 weeks. Tooling covering five or more marketplaces with per-platform pricing rules runs $10,000 to $16,000.

Which marketplaces can it connect to?

Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Ozon and others with a public seller API. We check each target marketplace's API terms before connecting, since some marketplaces restrict automated access in ways that matter for compliance.

How does it prevent overselling?

Stock is tracked centrally and pushed to every connected marketplace on a short sync interval. A sale on one platform reduces the number shown as available everywhere else almost immediately.

What is the stack?

FastAPI and PostgreSQL for the central catalogue and sync engine, with a Next.js dashboard for your team, and a connector built per marketplace's own API quirks.

Who owns the tooling and the data?

You. The catalogue, sync logic and every marketplace API credential live under your own accounts, so the tool keeps running independent of us.
