An app inside the chat
your customers already have open

A Telegram Mini App is a real web app that opens inside a chat, with Telegram's own login, payments and sharing built in. A customer never leaves the app they already have open to browse a catalog, book a service, or complete a purchase. We have built more than 250 bots, Mini Apps, and agents on this platform, including a marketplace with one-click purchase.

What it actually is

A Telegram Mini App is a web app that opens inside the Telegram client, in a chat or from a button. It is built with web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or a framework like React or Next.js) against Telegram’s WebApp SDK. It gets the user’s Telegram identity automatically, with no separate signup. It can trigger native-feeling haptics and theming that match the user’s Telegram appearance, and it can take payments through Telegram Stars or a connected payment provider.

When this is worth building, and when it is not

It earns its cost when your audience is already active on Telegram and what you are building goes beyond a button-and-text flow. Think a catalog with filters, a booking calendar, a game board, a cart. We built a marketplace engine with instant delivery across web and Telegram this way, because it needed a real interface a chat bot alone cannot provide.

It is the wrong tool if your audience is not meaningfully on Telegram. Building a Mini App for an audience that lives on WhatsApp or a regular website just adds a platform nobody will open. A simple flow, a yes-or-no confirmation, a single form, is often better as plain bot buttons too. A Mini App adds a build and load step a few inline buttons do not need.

How we decide what goes where

We start by deciding what actually needs to be a Mini App versus what is better as bot commands. A Mini App suits anything with real visual structure or state. A bot suits notifications, quick actions, and anything that benefits from living directly in the chat timeline. The Mini App itself is a real web app, served from your own infrastructure. It authenticates the user automatically through Telegram’s identity, so no login screen stands between a customer and the thing they came to do.

Payments go through Telegram’s own Stars system for digital goods, or a connected card or crypto provider for anything else. Every payment callback is validated server-side, so a client-side request alone can never open access to paid content. We build rate limiting and abuse protection in from the start. A Mini App that lets a script hammer an endpoint, or repeat an action without limit, gets exploited within a week of launch. We have seen it happen to projects that skipped this.

A companion bot handles what Telegram does well outside the Mini App’s own screen. That means push-style notifications, deep links into a specific screen, and a support flow for anything the app itself cannot resolve. That covers content, products, prices and game rules. It all runs through an admin panel or bot commands, so your team can update it without a developer.

What to plan around

Telegram’s platform rules and rate limits are real and change without much warning, so we build with margin rather than against the exact current limit. We avoid patterns like aggressive polling or unthrottled broadcast messages that risk the bot account getting flagged. A Mini App that depends entirely on Telegram as a distribution channel has no presence outside it. If your growth plan needs App Store or Google Play discovery too, treat a Mini App as a complement to a native app, not a replacement for one.

Price and timeline

Option Price What it covers Timeline
Mini App with bot and payments from $2,500 Catalog or booking flow, companion bot, one payment method, admin tools 2 to 4 weeks
Game or marketplace Mini App from $6,000 Custom game logic or multi-vendor marketplace, several payment methods, abuse guards 4 to 8 weeks

Running cost is hosting plus payment processing fees, usually $20 to $100 a month depending on traffic.

What this pairs with

This pairs with in-app subscriptions (App Store, Google Play) for products that also need a native presence. It also pairs with push notifications infrastructure for the companion bot’s messaging layer. See the e-commerce service page for catalog and payment packages and the development service page for the build process. For real examples, see the invite-only Mini App infrastructure and the marketplace engine across web and Telegram.

FAQ

How much does a Telegram Mini App cost?

From $2,500 for a Mini App with a catalog or booking flow, a companion bot and payments, in 2 to 6 weeks. A game or multi-vendor marketplace Mini App with its own economy and admin tools runs $5,000 to $12,000.

What is the difference between a Telegram bot and a Mini App?

A bot is a chat interface: buttons and text messages. A Mini App is a real web app with its own screens, forms, and visuals that opens inside Telegram. It suits anything with a catalog, a cart, a game board, or a form too complex for chat buttons. Most projects use both: a bot for notifications and quick actions, a Mini App for anything that needs a real interface.

Can it accept payments?

Yes. Telegram Stars for digital goods and in-app purchases, card payments through a connected provider for physical goods or services, and crypto where that fits your market. We set up whichever combination your product needs and keep the payment logic auditable.

Is it secure? What about fraud or abuse?

We build rate limiting and abuse guards in from the first version, not after a problem shows up. That means limits on repeated actions, validation on every payment callback, and logging on anything that moves money or opens access to paid content. A private, invite-only Mini App we built for a client runs on exactly this kind of guarded infrastructure.

Who owns the bot and the Mini App?

You. The bot token and the Mini App's hosting are set up in your name from the start. The source code is yours on payment, as set in the contract, with read access from day one, and we hand over admin access and a short runbook.
